Child Dedication is Here!

The Celebration takes place in all three morning services on Sunday, November 22, 2009. Child Dedication at The Crossing is an opportunity to thank God for the precious gift of your child and to publicly declare your intentions to raise your child in a Christian home with Christian principles.

If you are interested in participating, this is what you need to do:

• Submit 3-10 photographs of your child on a data CD/DVD on or before the orientation that you plan to attend.

• Complete and return the registration form to the welcome table prior to attending the Orientation or register for the event on-line at http://revstoops2003.wufoo.com/forms/2009-child-dedication/.

• Decide which of our Sunday morning services you and your family will attend.

Child Dedication Orientations are taking place on November 15^th in the conference room at the 8:30am and 11:30am services.  If you have questions contact Danielle at 947-2080 ext. 237

Next “Starting Point” Opportunity Dec. 6th

If you’re new to The Crossing, your next step is Starting Point. This class will help you discover who we are, what we believe, and how you can get connected. This 70 minute class is offered the first Sunday of each month during the 10:00 AM service (10:00 – 11:20). Located on the second floor of the Main Office building. Childcare is provided in our Children’s Ministry.  If you’d like to attend the next class, please sign up at the information Table in the Lobby or Click Here to register online.

“Rebel’s Guide” Series Continues This Week

Next to Jesus, the counter-cultural revolutionary, the greatest rebel found in the New Testament is Paul.  As a young man, he was full of passion and commitment in his life. After encountering Christ, God used those same God-given personality quirks to speak to the Christians scattered around the world, challenging them to grow in Jesus with the gusto. He was a man who went against the tide and was willing to step out, take risks, and live diligently as a “rebel.” He was a rebel WITH a cause. That cause was the gospel and life as a follower of Christ. This rebel still speaks to us today. As he nears the end of his life and sits in prison awaiting his fate, his words penetrate our hearts as he speaks to key issues in our lives that will run counter to the culture, but parallel with God.

In our eight-week focused series, “The Rebel’s Guide” we will be journeying and studying together at The Crossing through the book of Philippians.  It will be challenging as we take a ride on the wild side of a revolutionary faith in Jesus Christ…growing beyond the boundaries that have hemmed us in for far too long while not being afraid of who God uniquely created us to be. Join us each week for this intense series at each of our live services (8:30, 10:00, 11:30 am) including our new Sunday evening venue, “the six” (6:00 pm). Food Drive to Benefit Calvary Downtown Outreach!

 

Help The Crossing partner with Calvary Downtown Outreach to provide food assistance to needy families here in the Las Vegas valley. Please bring the following items to any of the four Sunday services on November 15th:

                    – Powdered Milk
                    – Boxed Cereals
                    – Peanut Butter and Jelly
                    – Beans, Rice, Pastas
                    – Mac & Cheese
                    – Soups, Canned Stew, Chili
                    – Canned Meats, Veggies, or Fruit

If you have recently become a follower of Christ or perhaps just have never taken this important step to be baptized, this is the next right step for you. As a part of this public statement of baptism, everyone at The Crossing gets to hear your unique story via video and celebrate your spiritual journey. This is the biblical way to declare your commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord of your life.

Downtown Outreach – Next Serving Op: Nov. 21st!

We invite you to join our Outreach Ministry to serve the homeless community on the 3rd Saturday of each month to provide a warm meal and a personal touch to those who are less fortunate.  Our next opportunity takes place  Saturday,  November 21st. We need approximately 25 volunteers to make this meal and worship gathering happen each month.  There are many ways to serve & you can come for an hour or stay for the day. The outreach takes place from 9 am to Noon.   Frank Lee is our new coordinator for the outreach and you can contact him at franklee@fcbb.com or go to www.calvarydowntownoutreach.org for directions and more information.

As the weather cools down the season for flu and other contagious illness is just heating up. With the new H1N1 virus, we wanted to make sure that you knew all the precautions we were taking to keep your child safe while they’re with us at Kids Crossing. The ‘U’…Classes Offered for 6th – 12th grade students

A new study series, designed for deeper Biblical  knowledge and understanding.

‘The U’ is offered four times per year, October, February, April and July. Each semester offers various electives for  students to choose. Current classes being offered are: *Intro to the Old  Testament and *Understanding World Religion (with an emphasis on Mormonism). Classes  begin October 25th and meet every Sunday from 6:00 – 7:30PM  for four consecutive weeks.

Enroll for current classes online @ www.thecrossingyouth.org or on Sunday  in the  Activity Center! The 2nd semester enrollment for ‘The U’ will be available in February.

Student Ministry Baptism Bash!

November 15th at 10:00 & 11:30AM students will have the opportunity to be  baptized during the Sunday morning service!

To signify the importance and enthusiasm that should surround a public declaration of   someone’s faith in Christ we are throwing a party! There will be hot dogs, cake, and much more!

Students wanting to be baptized can  sign up on Sunday morning in the  Activity Center.  Also, students that are being bapized are asked to  attend a baptism class on  November 8th @ 10:00AM in the main office building, 2nd floor, conference room.
